Heroin - Perak (Taiping) NOV

IPOH: Four suspected drug traffickers, all in their 20s including two women, were caught with heroin and syabu in their car after police chased them from Taiping to Kuala Kangsar.

Police found 24gm of heroin, some syabu, a stolen laptop and a brass knuckle in their Proton Perdana on Wednesday.

Kuala Kangsar OCPD Supt Abdul Ghafar Muhamad said police tried to stop the car in Taiping after seeing the group behaving suspiciously.

But they kept on driving and police gave chase before asking their counterparts in Kuala Kangsar for assistance.

Supt Abdul Ghafar said Kuala Kangsar police intercepted the car when the group reached the town at 4pm.

“They tried to ram into a police car but their car plunged into a drain.

“A fight ensued between our men and the suspects before they were apprehended,” he said, adding that one policeman suffered bruises.

Investigations found that the suspects had previous records for drugs.

“We believe they were distributing drugs in Taiping,” said Supt Abdul Ghafar. - Sumber
